Job Purpose: To supervise and successfully execute assigned events. To enthusiastically deliver first-class service and hospitality that exceeds guest expectations. Consistently delivering GATE, from when the first guest arrives to when the last guest leaves. To assist in all needs of the guest from AV, room set, and Service of any food and beverage.
Essential Functions:
- Greet and maintain contact with guests and assist with all needs – including being direct liaison between Gateway and group/event planners & organizers
- Assign and delegate tasks to staff
- Provide management with event status, progress, and feedback
- Demonstrate proper work procedures with a sense of urgency
- Deliver the GATEway service standards and exemplify Gateway Values
- Supervise the preparation and disassembly of event within designated room. Ensure food quality, presentation and services are in accordance with standardized procedures
- Preserve a healthy relationship between the Kitchen and Banquet staff
- Complete event summary reports at the conclusion of event
- Maximize productivity by working efficiently and in a timely manner
- Maintain inherent attention to detail
- Train new staff on standards of service and event set up
- Assist with Audio Visual needs of the Guest
- Ensure accurate daily billing for events
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Banquet serving experience
- Able to work up to a 30-hour work week
- Ability to deliver first class customer service
- Ability to communicate with guests, staff, and management accurately and effectively
- Demonstrating leadership by rallying their team during big events, resolving conflicts, and getting the job done
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills
- Audio Visual and Technology Skills – ability to learn property specific systems
